MRR is Getting Serious

With three to four days of calm weather between cold fronts this week, MRR is sending two vessels to the site of the Santa Margarita—the Sea Reaper and the Sea Hunter.

The Sea Reaper will have a newly-designed air lift on board for this trip, and the crew is planning to work in primary areas of the site which produced large amounts of treasure in the early 1980s. With the combination of the air lift and prop-wash excavation, the crew will be able to conduct a more thorough search of the area than has been achieved in the past. This methodology has proven to be very successful in other areas in the past, and we are looking forward to seeing what we can produce.

With air lift on the back deck and survey vessel Sea Hunter in tow,

the Sea Reaper embarks to the Margarita site with a mission.

The Sea Hunter and crew will continue executing the 2018 Operational Plan by conducting the magnetometer survey to the west of the known Margarita site. We are very enthusiastic about this survey and are anxiously awaiting the survey data to find out what anomalies will be discovered.

Please stay tuned as we should have an update by the middle of next week.
